The Cortex Project

"Mental health…is not a destination, but a process.

It’s about how you drive, not where you’re going."

- Noam Shpancer PHD

Cerebral Cortex

You may wonder why we chose to name our Mental Health Organization, "The Cortex Project". Well, let's think about the brain! The Cerebral Cortex also called the gray matter, is your brain’s outermost layer of nerve cell tissue.

Responsible for the higher-level processes of the human brain, including language, memory, reasoning, thought, learning, decision-making, emotion, intelligence, and personality.

Purpose

Our Purpose

A common reason why mental health is taboo is the fear of appearing weak or vulnerable in front of others. However, since 970 million people around the world struggle with mental illness, let's rethink mental health from this taboo narrative and help ourselves and others understand and overcome our struggles. Going through mental health struggles alone can be lonely and quite confusing. That's why we're here to provide knowledge, personal stories, and interviews on the subject of mental health!

"You're not alone! Currently, 970 million people around the world struggle with some mental illness!"
